“Hobo Humpin’ Slobo Babe”

I have no idea where I first heard this, probably either on a CMJ CD sampler, or a Video Music Monthly VHS magazine, but I just know I was  hooked.  It’s one of those songs that just rocks so hard from the very first note. 

Like many of the best power songs, it uses an almost Pixies-like loud-quiet-loud dynamic to accentuate the heavy-nature of the song.  The child-like, elfin lead vocal offset by the bro-dudes screaming chorus.  That moment about 2:35 when the song becomes a complete wall of noise is all the vocals and instruments merge together.  C’mon.  Powersong.
