I guess I’m not big on duets, or I just can’t remember any that stand out in an obvious way.  I dig on harmonies, but does that count as duets (e.g. most Alice In Chains songs from the Dirt era)? However, this track has been making the rounds in my playlist lately.  It’s a modern track (gasp!).  I know nothing of the two artists involved, other than they blend so well together and it’s a proper duet (by my standards) – they trade off verses and come together in a glorious way on the chorus.  It’s got a mellow vibe, dipping into a lazy country rhythym, but without any of the cheese the plagues so many modern tracks that crop up in the south these days.  Give it a listen – if you’ve got a porch swing and a cold glass of lemonade, all the better.

  1. No more Spotify embeds – I can’t listen to them! Canada. Points though for a last minute contribution to the theme. And for the record, no, harmonies don’t count, at least that’s not how I was thinking of duets. I was thinking more along the lines of songs that had two people singing that weren’t in the same band together normally.
