I can’t claim to have ever gotten too into Bowie’s music, but there are certainly standouts, and more than anything, I think he’s kind of the coolest. The coolest what? Whatever. Just definitely one of the coolest.

I first learned about this cover when this album came out, and my boss, who was a huge Bowie fan (he and my co-worker, who was younger than me and much younger than him, used to get into arguments about Bowie vs. Bono), told me about it. He knew I was a huge Pixies fan. I certainly won’t say I prefer this to the original, and it’s not even one of my favorite Bowie songs, but it still gets points because, you know, he’s the coolest.

About Chris

Chris is a digital producer based in Toronto, but don't worry, he's American. He enjoys karaoke and video games that are old enough to cost under $20. He used to be a master of the pit and live shows but can hardly keep up with anything new nowadays, so he usually goes to his happy place of media from his wayward youth. Chris is still trying to figure out what to be when he grows up.

  1. I’m the same with Bowie. He’s cool but just doesn’t draw me in. I definitely prefer the Pixies original.
