When Chris posted his “Jackson” karaoke post, he included a cover that INXS did, which got me to wondering who has covered INXS? Just as that thought popped into my head, I remembered stumbling across this video of Courtney Barnett performing the Kick album in its entirety.

I don’t know much about Courtney Barnett, other than I’m totally in love with her EP collection A Sea of Split Peas.  I spent a few hours at Waterloo records here in Austin on my birthday, parked in front of their listening stations sampling artists I had never heard of (which I’m making an official date if Chris ever comes and visits me in Texas). On first listen, I totally fell for her dreamy, sing-song vocal style of storytelling.  Plus there was a song called “Lance Jr.” that starts off with the lyric:

I masturbated to the songs you wrote

The whole album is great and you should definitely check it out on Spotify or just go ahead and buy it outright.  But, back to this post… check out Courtney performing the entire Kick album by fellow Australians, INXS.  It’s a really unique take and totally listenable.
