Definitely a best song ever.  “Go With The Flow” will remain on the five-star playlist for a long, long time.  The music video is a gorgeous piece of work, but even without its automotive theme driving home the point, this song would be a windows-down, blasting-across-the-asphalt song.

With that relentless pounding, you can tell Dave Grohl is drumming even without reading the credits.  It’s an interesting song, in that the music is fast, heavy and driving, but the lyrics are delivered as a ballad.  It’s as if there are two different songs mixed onto the same tape.

Go with the flow also contains one of my favorite lyrics ever:

I want something good to die for
To make it beautiful to live

How great is that line?  It’s like a universal truth spooled out into a short little rock song.  The entire song is is great poem, one that I’ve wanted to perform at karaoke, but just don’t seem to have the range to pull off.

She said, “I’ll throw myself away
They’re just photos after all”
I can’t make you hang around
I can’t wash you off my skin

Outside the frame is what we’re leavin’ out
You won’t remember anyway

I can go with the flow
Don’t say it doesn’t matter, matter anymore
(I can go with the flow)
I can go with the flow
(I can go)
Do you believe it in your head?

It’s so safe to play along
Little soldiers in a row
Falling in and out of love
Something sweet to throw away

I want something good to die for
To make it beautiful to live
I want a new mistake, loose is more than hesitate
Do you believe it in your head?

I can go with the flow
Don’t say it doesn’t matter, matter anymore
(I can go with the flow)
I can go with the flow
(I can go with the flow)
Do you believe it in your head?

Do you believe it in your head?
Do you believe it in your head?

Killer.
