I’m already a day late, and with 11 minutes to spare, nearly two days, so I’ll follow Lance’s lead and go with one where I’m slightly embarrassed to admit I only knew this cover version for a long time before I ever heard the original.

I’m pretty positive the liner notes for Pod listed the Beatles as the original songwriters, so I knew it was a Beatles’ song, but I was just vastly uneducated towards the Beatles (and let’s be honest, I still largely am). But I digress. I loved the first Breeders album, and this song is one of the many stand-outs. I won’t go so far as to say it surpasses the original, because I know that’s some kind of heresy, but it’s the only version I really know.

About Chris

Chris is a digital producer based in Toronto, but don't worry, he's American. He enjoys karaoke and video games that are old enough to cost under $20. He used to be a master of the pit and live shows but can hardly keep up with anything new nowadays, so he usually goes to his happy place of media from his wayward youth. Chris is still trying to figure out what to be when he grows up.

  1. I’ve been trying to get into the Beatles for years, mostly because a lot of my favorite bands name check them. And I get that they were revolutionary, but I don’t know… meh? However, this cover is the jam!
