So I completely blew it this week with no Karaoke Tuesday entry. There have been a few times in the past where Lance or I or both of us have been a little late, but this week I just totally dropped the ball. Normally at worst I might do it Wednesday and cheat by backdating the entry, but it just feels wrong to do that when it’s already Friday night. So you win this week, Lance. And apologies to all of our loyal fans (which is also just Lance).

Which brings us to #CoverFriday, which I’ve very nearly missed as well. I’m a bit adrift on what to pick this week, but I want to spare you from any more Queens of the Stone Age (I kid, I kid – I’ve never heard them and still have to catch up and listen to all of Lance’s posts). We’ve already passed the Summer Solstice and are on our long slope back down into the depths of winter (normally I’m a fan, but last winter sucked), but today was one of the first few that felt like a legitimate summer day, so here’s this little ditty.

I went through a phase of liking Pennywise in my first year of college, probably largely due to my friend Brendan who got me into a bunch of similar punk/punk-lite bands that year – NOFX, Blink 182, Face to Face, etc. I’ve stuck with a few of them, but grew out of of Pennywise. I do still like his voice though, and have a few songs still in my library that are great fun, including this one. I think it’s been on other albums, but I know their version from the random compilation album “M.O.M.: Music for Our Mother Ocean” from a while back, which was firmly in the category of a few of its parts being greater than the whole.

About Chris

Chris is a digital producer based in Toronto, but don't worry, he's American. He enjoys karaoke and video games that are old enough to cost under $20. He used to be a master of the pit and live shows but can hardly keep up with anything new nowadays, so he usually goes to his happy place of media from his wayward youth. Chris is still trying to figure out what to be when he grows up.
